Raytown Arts & Music Festival - August 26, 2017    1:00 pm - 7:00 pm

 The Raytown Parks and Recreation Department will host its 6th Annual Arts & Music festival
on Aug. 26 from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. at C. Lee Kenagy Park at 9608 E 79th Street. The festival promises a good show of artists that includes members of the Raytown Artist and Independence Art Associations, Luke LeTourneau Photography, Wine and Design by Kathryn Edwards, Chuck Watson Pottery, K-Jug Guitars, Messner Family Farm and many more vendors who will display their works for sale along the walking trails.

Connection Point will host art activities for kids in the shelter house.

Food and beverages will be available on site by food trucks - Lufti's Fish, Chunky Al's, Twisted Asian, Pita for Good, KC Cooler Express and Fun House Pizza will sell adult beverages at its Tiki Hut.

Bring your lawn chairs, blankets and coolers and settle in to listen to some great music.

Headlining the music lineup this year is Brewer and Shipley http://brewerandshipley.com as this year marks the 50th Anniversary of One Toke Over the Line, the hit that launched the career of this duo who hails from Raytown and Kansas City.

Wildwood Boys originated in Raytown in 2010 and are dedicated to preserving the natural sounds of blue grass music performed on mandolin, banjo, fiddle and acoustic guitars. Website:  http://wildwoodboysbluegrassmusic.com.

Keith Ladd Band is a country/southern rock band from the Kansas City Metro Area. With a passion for original music, the band aims to bring its fans unique, hand-written songs. Website:  http://keithladdmusic.com.

Millage Gilbert and the Down Home Blues Band has for over 35 years taken center stage at the blues clubs of urban Kansas City. Gilbert has chiseled out a solid style of Delta Blues, Memphis Soul, and Kansas City Blues.  Website:  https://omnientertainment.com/tag/millage-gilbert/ 

The Supermatics  - every once in a while the perfect group of musicians forms the perfect band at the perfect time. For Kansas City, The Supermatics are that band.  The Supermatics perform a variety of dance music, covers and originals, but enjoy adding JohnnyC's special touch to make our music truly unique.  Hearing is believing.

 Bark In The Park - May 20, 2017

Bark In The Park offers a howling good time for pet lovers and their furry friends!  The event, sponsored and presented by First Baptist Raytown, BluePearl Veterinary Services, Raytown Parks and Recreation and the City of Raytown, provides a free, family-oriented day of fun for the Raytown Community.  Bark In The Park will be held on Saturday, May 20, 2017 in Kenagy Park, from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm with Swag "Doggie Bags"being offered one per family while supplies last.  

41st Annual Fishing Derby - 2017

The Raytown Parks Department wil host the 41st annual Fishing Derby on Saturday, June 3, 2017 at Kenagy Lake from 9:00 am - 11:00 am. The derby is free and open to Raytown Residents of all ages.  Registration for the derby will begin at 8 am.

27th Annual Raytown Arbor Day - 2016

The Raytown Treen Board in association with the Raytown Parks & Recreation will celebrate Arbor Day on Saturday, April 30, 2016 at 2:00 pm at the Rice Tremonti Home, 8801 E. 66th St., Raytown, MO.  Public is invited to attend.

The Raytown Parks Department in conjunction with Missouri Park & Recreation Association (MPRA) will be selling discount tickets to Schlitterbahn, Silver Dollar City and Worlds of Fun & Oceans of Fun.  The tickets are here.  Come by anytime Monday - Friday, 8 am - 5 pm.
